Giving Thanks

I took a break from recording over Thanksgiving, so I could pause, reflect and just do. This is not easy for me, since my comfort zone is to drive and to be. But just like you, I have been inspired by the amazing guests who are singularly focussed on doing the right thing, even if it means getting out of their comfort zones.

And so I give my thanks to these courageous women who come forth to share their stories of inspiring career transitions. And I give my thanks to you, for giving me the opportunity to share these stories with you and to build a community of women who embrace career transitions.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break and we will be back to the usual programming next week!

Introducing My 2.0

Learn. Unlearn. Relearn. Successfully Transition. That was NOT my last transition twenty years ago. I had moved 8000 miles away from my family, my friends and a great career, so I could spread my wings to fly higher and faster in a new, unknown land. That transition felt endless and lonely – a year long haze riddled with confusion, self-doubt and ambiguity.

Fast forward twenty years, my next career transition, determined to make this one better; not just for myself but for my two daughters. Because with teen girls observing and learning from every move you make, every word you speak and every thought you think, there is no other option. Especially as our lives become even more non-linear, career transitions will be the norm, and not the exception.

There is a wealth of career transition advice. So many successful role models tucked away, waiting to be found. Waiting, willing and wanting to share their wisdom through their stories, their journeys.

And so begins ‘My 2.0’; an ongoing effort to surface, curate and share individual transition stories, and compile their wisdom. Together, we will build a framework, a community of peer and mentor advisors to show us how to embrace our 2.0. So that me and my girls, you and your girls, don't wallow in self-doubt, or worse, not have the courage and confidence to challenge the status quo in our careers.

So let’s Learn. Unlearn. Relearn. And Successfully Transition!
